My background and qualifications
My passion for English was nurtured at Baines School in Poulton where I was encouraged to develop my talent further with a Degree in English Literature and Language at Salford University. Post degree, I continued my studies at Manchester Metropolitan University with a Certificate in Education, specialising in English.
Having worked at 3 schools in Manchester over the last 8 years honing my pedagogical skills, I have established a firm grasp of exactly what is needed to ensure my pupils' success in Secondary English at all levels with outstanding student results and observations across the board.
My areas of expertise include:
- Gifted and Talented pupils
- Developing self-confidence
- C/D borderline
- Achieving level 7 at Key Stage 3
Further work as a specialist examiner and moderator for the UK's leading exam board has led to a specialist, in-depth knowledge of GCSE English.
Since becoming a Mother to twins in 2012, I am now able to offer tailor made tuition from my home, located within walking distance of Baines and Hodgson High Schools.
